making every day a little better for parents, everywhere
As parents, supporting the healthy growth and development of our little ones is our number one priority. At Helina Baby, we deliver safe, easy-to-use, and consciously-made baby products, and we provide quality customer care and educational resources—all in hopes to make that goal a little easier and more comfortable for parents to achieve, everyday.
We want to help every parent nurture their child’s emotional, psychological, and physical health with greater ease and comfort.
Ingrid Gayle, Founder & Co-Owner
When Ingrid became a mom in 2010, she fell in love with babywearing. She loved that it promoted bonding, nurtured her baby’s development, and it allowed her the freedom and mobility to travel the world — all while keeping her daughter close. Wanting to share this life-changing discovery with other parents, she became certified as a babywearing educator at The BabyWearing Institute in Utah, USA.
As she began to help parents with their carriers, she observed that wraps and ring slings were supportive but challenging for some to use, while user-friendly buckle-carriers were often a poor fit for newborns and uncomfortable to wear. Ingrid wanted to design a single carrier that would solve all of these problems and more.
Ingrid set out to design a carrier that would properly support newborn babies in a healthy position, while being exceptionally comfortable and easy-to-use. Additionally, her unique background in human biomechanics and natural health (as a personal trainer and a certified holistic nutritionist) inspired her to develop a light and breathable carrier, made with organic cotton, that was designed to feel weightless and allow parents to move freely and comfortably all day. After years of research and development, the Helina Baby carrier was finally born.
Ina Avote, Co‑Owner
Ina, a fertility and birth doula, and mother of three, joined the Helina Baby team in 2017 to provide support in bringing the company to the next level.
In search for a comfortable carrier, Ina learned about Ingrid’s project and soon after purchased the first prototype of the Helina Baby carrier. The comfort of the carrier allowed Ina to run her home daycare while meeting her children’s needs and gave her the freedom as a Yoga Instructor to teach her classes while wearing her baby. Over the past four years, Ina has raised two of her children using the Helina Baby carrier and she can attest that it has been an absolute lifesaver.
Ina is passionate about supporting families in being more eco-conscious and finding ways to bring ease and simplicity to parenting.
